Project Description
VALIANT was the Prime Contractor for the successful completion of two new eco-friendly residences. Each Green Home spans approximately 10,300 square feet and features 10 patient rooms, emphasizing a commitment to sustainable and compassionate care. The work consisted of comprehensive ground-up construction, including site preparation and utility installations to extend roadway and ultilities to the site. Building construction consisted of concrete foundations, wood framed structure, masonry and cementitious siding and trim. The wood framed structure is supplemented by structural steel columns, CMU corridor with concrete lid, and glue-lam timber trusses. Each Green Home includes interior multi-use spaces as well as exterior therapy courtyards. During this project there were various challenges including several defective specification issues requiring modification to the contract documents and the COVID-19 pandemic. Valiant worked with the VA to resolve these defective specification issues in a quick manner that would allow work to continue and meet Valiant’s “What can be done, shall be done” philosophy. Even with these challenges, the project completed ahead of allowable construction duration.
