Expand Parking Garage

This project added 3 additional parking levels to an existing 3 level parking structure. Valiant as prime contractor, provided all tools, equipment, material, labor, and supervision necessary to accomplish the work in accordance with the contract drawings.

Levels 1 – 3, Work on the existing lower 3 levels included infill of openings with fire-rated glazed assemblies. Existing damaged expansion joint covers were removed and replaced with new expansion joint covers. Valiant repainted level numbers, accent colors and signage. Louvers in the existing curtain wall system were removed and replaced. Renovations to existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were performed as well.

Levels 4 – 6, Levels 4 through 6 were added atop the existing structure.  The new structure consisted of: demolition of existing column concrete, masonry wall and roof and precast and bumper wall; fabrication and installation of precast concrete panels and stairs; cast in place concrete; structural steel framing, steel decking and metal fabrications; rough carpentry; electrical demo, fire alarm modifications, security cameras and code blue stations; raising existing elevator unit and installation of new Otis GEN 2elevator and controls; demolition of mechanical system and install of all storm piping, installation of chilled water, install HVAC and relocate existing and balance;  acoustical ceilings and finish work.  Cable barriers, grilles and expansion joint covers were installed as well as precast concrete stairs with railings from 3rd level to the 6th level. Existing elevator shaft was extended to the 6th level and a new shaft was constructed.  All controls were added allowing both elevators to act as a single system. New roof structure and roofing were added on the top level at stair and elevator towers. New lighting and signage was installed and new painted striping for parking, directional arrows and floor marking were applied per drawings. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were all upgraded.
