Patrick, Valiant’s President, leads day-to-day operations and makes all executive-level decisions for the company. Having served as a U.S. Army officer, Patrick understands the value of strong leadership and commitment.
As President, Patrick sets the overall direction of the company, establishes company-wide goals, interfaces with architects, subcontractors, and owners, negotiates contracts with clients and strategic partners, and evaluates the financial performance of the company. He possesses over 12 years of comprehensive experience in executive oversight, project management, supervision, administration, and field experience.

Steve Mongrello, Vice President of Operations
Steve provides 30+ years of professional experience to the Valiant team. He holds a degree in Construction Engineering and serves as Valiant’s VP of Operations. Having worked in a variety of capacities from the field to the office, Steve has an understanding that allows him to find solutions that address all sides of a project.
Clients value his superior knowledge in leading design and construction teams, monitoring field construction activities, document interpretation, estimating, planning and scheduling, interfacing with architects and owners, and negotiation and administration of contracts.

Martha Gillespie, Vice President of Preconstruction
Martha’s experience in the construction industry spans over four decades. Beginning on the design side with architects and interior designers, she later transferred into construction as she is now Valiant’s Vice President of Preconstruction. Her strengths lie in RFP analysis and strategy development, and she has completed 400+ federal proposal submittals. Also, her leadership and experience in interoffice management and procedures have made her a valued asset to Valiant.

Adam Hobson, Director of Finance
Adam joined Valiant shortly after completing his MBA. Brought on as Accounting Manager, Adam has quickly earned his position as Director of Finance and as a leader in the company. Tim Ernstberger, Senior Project Manager
Tim has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, and he provides strong leadership in all phases of construction from design contract negotiations through build out. He possesses excellent management skills that include scheduling, problem-solving, cost reduction, energy savings calculations, estimating, budgeting, forecasting and construction administration. Tim excels in delivering projects on time and under budget.

Jeff has nearly two decades of managing commercial and U.S. government construction and design/build contracts. He excels at managing operations and projects while contributing significant revenue-producing activities. Jimmy Thompson, Superintendent
Jimmy has 20 years’ experience in construction and federal contracting, with 12 years as a Superintendent. His key areas of expertise include scheduling, targeting of intermediate milestones, budget monitoring, and overall project coordination. He possesses excellent communication skills complemented with extremely strong technical skills.
Andy Hall, Superintendent
Andy has over 16 years’ experience in Construction, with 11 years in Project Management. He excels in job site safety, communication, scheduling/budget, and general job site management as well as maintaining client relations. He is respected by his teams and challenges them to exceed client expectations.
Sean Scherer, Superintendent
Sean’s experience includes 22 years in the construction industry and 15 years of supervision and management of U.S. government and medical projects in various locations. His biggest strength is in federal contracting and total project management. His thorough knowledge of each project he is assigned enables him to make quality decisions and resolve issues.
Gale Hensley, Superintendent
Gale has spent nearly three decades in the construction industry working with and supervising subcontractors. He excels in scheduling, project coordination, budget monitoring, and management of materials. Gale understands that customer satisfaction is of utmost importance for any construction project.
Preston Davis, Superintendent
Preston has worked in the construction field for over 30 years. He is a seasoned Superintendent who has fulfilled many management positions while for working with various government entities. He excels in blueprint reading, scheduling, project coordination, and management. Preston has performed work for the VA, USACE, Department of the Army, Department of the Air Force and TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority).
Tom Tonn, Superintendent
Tom has worked in the construction industry for the last 22 years with ten years’ experience as a project supervisor. His knowledge and understanding of all aspects of construction have served him well in scheduling work, materials ordering, subcontractor relations, estimating, billing, and ensuring projects remain on time and budget.
Robert Richter, Superintendent
Robert holds over 30 years’ experience in Construction as a Superintendent and Project Manager. He has experience in managing, bidding, organizing, and scheduling ground up new, single and multiple story construction. Robert’s primary focus is with medical facilities, industrial projects, and medical building renovation. He also has field engineering experience in project layout, topography alteration, and drainage control.
Karl Scherer, Superintendent
Karl’s experience includes 45 years in the construction industry and 17 years of supervision and management in occupied, functioning facilities throughout the eastern U.S. He has extensive experience in federal contracting and his knowledge, understanding, and leadership in this area is exceptional.
Joe Szerszen, Superintendent
Over the last four decades, Joe worked his way up through the ranks of the construction industry. Today, he manages Valiant’s top projects. His expertise lies in healthcare, and he has completed projects such as a Linear Accelerator-Cyberknife, multi-story medical office buildings, a hospital addition with seven full functional surgical rooms, The Genoa Medical Center and most recently, the Upgrade Domestic Water project at the Indianapolis VA Medical Center. With each project, Joe provides the utmost in customer satisfaction by ensuring outstanding quality, high safety standards, and timely project completion.
Jack Chaillet, Superintendent
Jack’s experience includes more than 15 years of supervision and management of U.S. government and medical projects in various locations. These projects have been in numerous functioning facilities for clients such as NIH, DoD, AFFRI, FBI, USACE and NAVFAC. Jack is extremely knowledgeable of federal contracting requirements.
