Patrick Broderick

Patrick Broderick, President

Patrick, Valiant’s President, leads day-to-day operations and makes all executive-level decisions for the company. Having served as a U.S. Army officer, Patrick understands the value of strong leadership and commitment.

As President, Patrick sets the overall direction of the company, establishes company-wide goals, interfaces with architects, subcontractors, and owners, negotiates contracts with clients and strategic partners, and evaluates the financial performance of the company. He possesses over 12 years of comprehensive experience in executive oversight, project management, supervision, administration, and field experience.

His enthusiasm and unwavering integrity govern Valiant’s operations.

Chris Smith

Chris Smith, Vice President of Operations

Chris Smith was promoted to VP, Operations in 2018. Chris is responsible for all aspects of construction management, and providing leadership to Valiant’s project managers, assistant project managers, superintendents, and foremen.

Chris has a long history with the company. In previous years, he served as an Assistant Project Manager, Senior Assistant Project Manager, and Project Manager at Valiant. Chris’ industry knowledge, experience, and effectiveness using Valiant’s approach to the construction industry have been critical to the company’s success. Chris received a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Eastern Kentucky University.

Adam Hobson

Adam Hobson, Controller

Adam joined Valiant shortly after completing his MBA. Brought on as Accounting Manager, Adam has quickly earned his position as Director of Finance and as a leader in the company. He is also a licensed CPA. His accounting/financial insight and understanding and his dedication to making Valiant successful are truly an asset.

Jeffrey Hils

Jeffrey Hils, Senior Project Manager

Jeff has nearly two decades of managing commercial and U.S. government construction and design/build contracts. He excels at managing operations and projects while contributing significant revenue-producing activities. Jeff is an effective communicator who interacts easily with all levels of organization personnel, design teams, subcontractors, and customers.

James Arterburn, Project Manager

James is an accomplished Project Manager who maintains focus on the “big picture.” With 18+ years of experience in construction, military, and business, James’ specialized qualifications in division management, organizational leadership, and project management set him apart. He develops and manages extremely effective teams while conducting high-intensity operations.

Steve Mongrello

Steve Mongrello, Senior Project Manager

Steve provides 30+ years of professional experience to the Valiant team. He holds a degree in Construction Engineering. Having worked in a variety of capacities from the field to the office, Steve has an understanding that allows him to find solutions that address all sides of a project.

Clients value his superior knowledge in leading design and construction teams, monitoring field construction activities, document interpretation, estimating, planning and scheduling, interfacing with architects and owners, and negotiation and administration of contracts.

Andy Hall

Andy Hall, Superintendent

Andy has over 16 years’ experience in Construction, with 11 years in Project Management. He excels in job site safety, communication, scheduling/budget, and general job site management as well as maintaining client relations. He is respected by his teams and challenges them to exceed client expectations.

Sean Scherer

Sean Scherer, Superintendent

Sean’s experience includes 22 years in the construction industry and 15 years of supervision and management of U.S. government and medical projects in various locations. His biggest strength is in federal contracting and total project management. His thorough knowledge of each project he is assigned enables him to make quality decisions and resolve issues.

Preston Davis

Preston Davis, Superintendent

Preston has worked in the construction field for over 30 years. He is a seasoned Superintendent who has fulfilled many management positions while for working with various government entities. He excels in blueprint reading, scheduling, project coordination, and management. Preston has performed work for the VA, USACE, Department of the Army, Department of the Air Force and TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority).

Tom Tonn

Tom Tonn, Superintendent

Tom has worked in the construction industry for the last 22 years with ten years’ experience as a project supervisor. His knowledge and understanding of all aspects of construction have served him well in scheduling work, materials ordering, subcontractor relations, estimating, billing, and ensuring projects remain on time and budget.

Robert Richter

Robert Richter, Superintendent

Robert holds over 30 years’ experience in Construction as a Superintendent and Project Manager. He has experience in managing, bidding, organizing, and scheduling ground up new, single and multiple story construction. Robert’s primary focus is with medical facilities, industrial projects, and medical building renovation. He also has field engineering experience in project layout, topography alteration, and drainage control.

Joe Szerszen

Joe Szerszen, Superintendent

Over the last four decades, Joe worked his way up through the ranks of the construction industry. Today, he manages Valiant’s top projects. His expertise lies in healthcare, and he has completed projects such as a Linear Accelerator-Cyberknife, multi-story medical office buildings, a hospital addition with seven full functional surgical rooms, The Genoa Medical Center and most recently, the Upgrade Domestic Water project at the Indianapolis VA Medical Center. With each project, Joe provides the utmost in customer satisfaction by ensuring outstanding quality, high safety standards, and timely project completion.

Tim Holloman

Tim Holloman, Chief Estimator

Tim Holloman has over 15 years of experience estimating, scheduling, value engineering, buy out and subcontract negotiation, project management, coordination and communication. His expertise, attention to detail and critical thinking are key when assessing bid options, developing approaches to estimates and value engineering. His exceptional organizational and communication skills are critical to the team and their success. Tim is responsible for all estimating, preconstruction scheduling and subcontractor development. His overall knowledge is highly valued and beneficial asset to Valiant.
